"I just wanted to extend a very warm thank you to Rose and the PhilaPets team! We are so grateful we found you guys. Not only do you make our lives easier, but have enriched our kitties lives as well. We used to leave town for a few days, leaving friends to care for Bombay and Seven, but it wasn't until Seven needed meds before we really found PhilaPets. I've never felt more confident and assured of their safety. Thanks again!"

Special Needs Care   >>View Prices

Unfortunately, not every pet is completely healthy. It becomes even harder leaving your pet behind when you're animal isn't feeling 100%.

We are proud to have an extensive network of individuals on staff that are trained to deal with many kinds of medical conditions. Our veterinary students and veterinary technicians on staff are very experienced with administering medication and treatments. We also have a trained eye to pick up on any signs that would indicate that your pet is not doing well and merits medical attention.

Here are some examples of special needs care that we can perform:

  • Injecting insulin
  • Giving pills orally, with or without a pill gun
  • Administering subcutaneous fluids
  • Walking weak-hipped animals using sash
  • Checking blood glucose level by taking blood and/or performing a blood glucose curve
