This year's cover model is Franklin, the adorable Bulldog puppy.
Our 2012 cover model winner was chosen from a raffle competition for pet parents that donated to this year's Mutt Strut. With your help, we were able to raise $3,885! This was quite an amazing accomplishment and we couldn't have done it without you. A sincere thank you all!!

Pet Care and Winter Weather
Hello Pet Parents,
As most of you well know, we are in the middle of the winter season with extremely cold winds, rain and snow which can pose a serious threat to our Pet Care Specialists and the animals under our care.
We ask our Pet Care Specialists to be mindful of the potential cold weather exposure of your pet and follow certain guidelines to ensure their safety. When the temperature is below 30 degrees Fahrenheit or the windchill is below 20 degrees we shorten dog walks to 10~15 minutes. The remaining time in the service request is spent warming up indoors to make sure your dog(s) and the PCS safely adjust from being in the cold and have adequate time to warm up and hydrate. Ice also prohibits safe walking creating dangerous sidewalks and paths. We will evaluate any case of extreme rain, wind, hail or other weather to best ensure the reasonable care of pets and walkers. This may also effect travel time and time windows.
Additionally, our policy is to only perform 30 minute dog walking services when the combined wind chill and temperature in under 20 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have scheduled a hour long pet care service for your dog, for the safety of your dog and PCS, we require that the service be lessened to a 30 minute visit. If you would like for us to remain inside for the additional half an hour for companionship purposes we would be more than happy to do so.
Please email us info@philapets.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Be safe and stay warm.

PhilaPets Facebook Followers
If you are following us on Facebook you would know a few weeks back there was a scary dog-on-dog attack that left Toni, a lovable greyhound in our PhilaPets family, on death's door. Luckily, she has survived thanks to exceptional veterinary care. However, exceptional care has exceptional costs
The friends and neighbors of Toni wanted to help out as much as they could, so they threw a fundraising party at the Ten Stone at 21st and South on Tuesday December 20 to help defray or cover over $8,000 in vet bills.
This event was as much about community building, raising awareness and educating neighbors and dog-owners as it was about raising money. It was a huge success!
