PhilaPets.com Newsletter: April 2010

PhilaPets News and Information

PhilaPets has always been focused on meeting the needs of our clients and is happy to announce the switch to an all electronic payment system. We were the first to offer the people of Philadelphia an online scheduling system, and for the last six years, our clients have had access to schedule and monitor all aspects of their pet sitting needs from the comfort of their own home, at any time, any day. We are adding that same great accessibility to our billing system as well.

Moving to an electronic system will ensure that our accounts are always up to date and not have to worry that a payment may have been lost in the mail, forgotten in the bottom of a bag or purse, or left in a client's home. In addition, an all electronic system will eliminate a lot of unnecessary paperwork, trips to the bank and post office, and help streamline our back-end processes -- all of this resulting in more time that our staff can spend focusing on our clients and their pets.

We are shooting to make this digital transition by May 15th, 2010. So how can you get setup?

1. You can submit your credit card information online. Below is a link to log into your PhilaPets.com account.

2. You can call us at (215) 893-0894 with this information during our normal business hours:

Monday - Friday: 9:30am - 5:30pm
Saturday: 10am - 3pm

The security of your financial information is very important to us. That is why we use PayPal as our credit card processing service. PayPal is a fully PCI DSS compliant payment service provider. PhilaPets.com will store only the last four digits of your card number for your reference. All communication to and from PayPal is done via a secure, 128-bit encrypted, https connection.

We are very excited to roll this new service out to you and welcome any questions you may have.

Movin' on Up!

Movin' on Up!

We have some very exciting managerial promotions to announce!

Our very own Katherine Veri is now the PhilaPets General Manager! Kat has been our Service Coordinator for over two years now and in that time has been the driving force behind our continued success. We applaud her hard work, tireless dedication, and the exceptional support she's provided our staff and clients since joining the team and are so very pleased to announce her promotion -- way to go Kat!

We are also excited to share the news that Megan O'Mara, Pet Care Specialist and Weekend Manager, has been promoted to the position of Service Coordinator! Megan joined the PhilaPets team as a PCS in June of 2008 and became an invaluable asset from day one. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as she was quickly promoted to Weekend Manager. We have no doubt that she'll continue to shine in her new role as Service Coordinator. Well done Megan!

Amy Melvin, former PhilaPets Weekday Manager, has graduated with her Master of Education degree from Temple University. Amy continues to care for dogs and kitties with PhilaPets on a part-time basis, but you'll now find her flipping and twisting at The Little Gym of Narberth on a full-time basis, where she teaches gymnastics to students ages four months to twelve years.

Go Team!

PCS Got Talent!

PCS Got Talent!

Rachel Levitt worked as a full-time PCS for PhilaPets from 2006 to 2008. She left full-time pet sitting in order to teach art during the school year, and continues to pet sit over the summer months over her summer break. Rachel is also an artist and has been painting custom portraits of animals for years.

She'd love to paint a custom portrait of your animal too!

See more of Rachel's work at her Web site!

Spring has Sprung! Beware the Fleas and Ticks…

Spring has Sprung! Beware the Fleas and Ticks…

Please remember that springtime is parasite season. Make sure to check your supply of flea and tick medications so that your animal is protected! If you need to make a trip to the vet for a fresh supply, it is always a good idea to check that your animal is up-to-date on all his or her shots. If you take your dog camping, out to the country, or for walks in heavily wooded areas, it is also a good idea to get a lyme vaccination.
