Meet Roberto and Amy

Image: Roberto and Amy Meet Roberto (left) and Amy (right)! We were rescued from Reading Terminal Market's Amish Festival on the hottest day of August.

We were really small -- and sick too. We had all sorts of fleas and ear mites and upper respiratory infections. But, some nice PhilaPets people took us in, cleaned us up and look how gorgeous we are now!

We've had all our shots, we are flea free AND we've already been neutered and spayed. Although we look alike we're actually not related ... we're both teenagers but we're a month apart in age.

Even though we love the PhilaPets family, we're ready for a forever home so if you'd like us to be your four-legged kids, drop a note to Dave at dmacaudio@comcast.net.

Farewell PPP!

Image: People-Pet Partnership Logo "Dear Volunteers & Friends of the People-Pet Partnership,

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you this latest PPP update. After 4 wonderful years of helping Philadelphia's animals leave our local shelters to find loving homes, we write today to say good-bye."

See the official message from the PPP Board. The PPP was launched by PhilaPets.com's own Amy Angelilli back in May of 2002. Several of our Pet Care Specialists and clients volunteered their time to help find homes for Philadelphia shelter animals.

Pet Health

Cesar Millan- The Dog Whisperer
If you receive the National Geographic Channel, then check out The Dog Whisperer Fridays at 8:00pm.

Cesar Millan is often called the Dr. Phil for dogs. But therapy doesn't stop with the pets. Cesar often has to re-train the dogs' owners to be more effective leaders for the furry friends.

See The Dog Whisperer Web Site for more information.

Disaster Planning
Disasters, natural and otherwise, can unfortunately happen at any time. Preparation and planning for disasters should include what to do with our pets in case evacuation is necessary. Unfortunately in the heat of the moment our pets can be forgotten, and because their reactions to changes can be unpredictable is best to be well prepared.
