Community Outreach

PhilaPets - a collective brain with a communal heart

Full of life, operating every single day of the year, the collective brain behind PhilaPets rarely sleeps. It is always hard at work thinking up new ways to provide the absolute best pet care that our pet parents demand, and that the pets deserve. There is a constant flurry of meetings, changes, ideas, trainings and trouble shootings. Amongst all this, almost seemingly forgotten, is the nurturing and fun-loving communal heart of PhilaPets. The success of PhilaPets is not solely based on all that is cognitive. Within its Pet Care Specialists and its clients alike, lies empathy for each other and kindness towards animals.

As one of the four entities that we serve, the community is something we are very passionate about. Please read below about all the community events we have been or are going to be involved with.

2nd Annual Mutt Strut

For whom: Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
Mary Beth and Geenie at Carnivale of the Dogs. Geenie got adopted!
This event in late fall 2008 raised money to benefit Philadelphia's orphaned, abandoned, and homeless pets. It was a great opportunity to get together on lovely autumn day to take a scenic walk with our Pet Care Specialists, friends, family, fellow clients, and the dogs we love.

We raised $2500 for PAWS which all went towards helping Philadelphia's helpless and unwanted animals. Thanks to all who donated!

The 4th Annual Carnivale of the Dogs:

The free festival for dog lovers and their pooches took place on September 27th, 2008. This upscale puppy party was open to the public and featured unique activities and treats for pets and their owners.

PhilaPets partnered with the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at the event and walked homeless dogs from the shelter around Rittenhouse Square in an effort to get them adopted. We were so excited to have three of our dogs find forever-homes that day. We hope that next year will be an even bigger success.
